The laboratory of happiness
The scheme was to design a Fun Palace, a Laboratory of Fun, on the fringe of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Hackney Wick Railway Station.
The Laboratory of Happenings was designed as a place by 'tuning' the human brain to certain frequencies using brainwave entrainment and other techniques to experience different states of consciousness. It also aimed at stimulating specific brain functions such as creativity, mood enhancement, and happiness.

RIBA work stage 0-4

Human brainwaves, words, music, consciousness, the body, and indeed the entire universe are nothing more than vibrations of energy. The rate at which this energy vibrates is called frequency. Rocks, emotions, people, and even planets differ from each other, and everything else, because of their unique vibration frequencies.

Through the project, audiences will discover how they can ‘tune’ their brains to certain brainwave patterns to receive positive benefits such as psychic development, relaxation, healing, and enhanced learning. These benefits are multiplied when combined with beautiful music and positive frequencies.
